An architects’ project from the Studio of Rowland Conti
The reconstruction of a derelict country cottage to be built in stone, part to be exposed and part to be plastered (using an ageing process). The verandah is to have brick columns and a ceiling in wood. The roof is to be completed in old cup tiles. Internally the ground floor ceiling is to be faced with wooden boards while the upper floor ceiling will use the traditional system of wooden beams interspaced with brick tiles. The eaves will consist of beams shaped at the end and interspaced with brick tiles. The roof will be completed with old cup tiles and brick chimneys.

The renovation of a former barn having been granted change of use, to be built in reclaimed stone and brick. Stairs, hand-rail and verandah in wood. Roof to be completed with reclaimed old tiles. Arches to be built with reclaimed bricks. Side façade finished with hand made brick tiles in a honeycomb pattern.

Roofing in terracotta cup tiles
Building a new farmhouse completely in exposed stone with architraves in oak and reclaimed brick and the roof finished with old terracotta cup tiles with the chimneys built using small bricks. The ceilings are constructed in the traditional manner with wooden beams interspaced with reclaimed brick tiles. All of the work is finished to the highest possible professional standard.

Restoring a stone façade with new arches constructed using small exposed bricks. Chimneys built in stone and the roof finished with old cup tiles. Deteriorating internal walls repaired by replacing grouting where necessary. Perimeter wall constructed in exposed stone.
